WinSlam© is a Win32 application that can be used as a Web server load test, HTML FORM test, and application server testing application (click here for the details). This program is currently shareware and can be downloaded free from here.

The current version of the program is v1.0.8. The executable is 172,032 bytes, and the accompanying .hlp file is 23,729 bytes. These can be downloaded in 1 ZIP file.

WinSlam!© will perform an HTTP GET or POST with data entered by the user. The data can be static (remain unchanged from request to request) or dynamic (new values are generated for each request, as specified by the user).

WinSlam!© allows the user to see any of:

1. The GET/POST request sent to the server
2. The HTTP headers returned from the server
3. The HTML response returned from the server

WinSlam!© can be used as a load tester by spawning between 1 and 128 threads, all of which perform GET or POST requests simultaneously. The rate of request can be controlled to determine the load on the server.

WinSlam!© can read data from a database (via ODBC) and can use the results as dynamic test data in the GET/POST requests.

WinSlam!© allows the user to mimick some of the more popular Web browsers by sending the browsers HTTP headers along with the request, which allows the user to see the response being returned from a Web server for a number of browsers (to test the response for content like browser-specific Javascript).
